What is Camshaft adjusters

 

The main element of the variable valve timing system is the camshaft phaser (variator, phase adjuster, cam phaser or camshaft adjuster). It is used to change the angular position of the camshafts in relation to the crankshaft while the engine is running. Put in other words; it changes the timing setting depending on the load on the driving pulley unit, thus controlling the moment of opening or closing the valves – through which -  contributing to the improvement of the engine dynamics and the reduction of exhaust emissions.
