Product Details

Camshaft Problem 

The customer's requirement was an actuator for a camshaft switching system. It should be possible to optimise the cylinder intervals by adjusting the camshaft so that the engine works as efficiently and with as little fuel as possible. In a worst-case scenario, a failure can damage the camshaft.

Soulation

 

MSG developed an actuator that is attached to the cylinder head cover and uses a retractable pin to move a cam piece in a phase-controlled manner. The resettings takes place via the cam piece. The function of the actuator is controlled by the engine control unit.
